Climate - North America is located in the Northern Hemisphere ranging from 20 degrees to about 60 degrees latitude. The southern part of it has a tropical climate, while the Northern parts go all the way up to the Arctic Circle. There are some areas of extreme dryness, and other areas that are extremely lush and green. The Northern half of North America is very cold most of the year with a large amount of snow.
Habits – The habits of North Americans vary as it is one of the most diverse places on Earth. Many people in the Northern half of North America live in extremely rural places, while some of the biggest cities in the world are located in the United States. Habits of teenagers are steadily becoming more centered on growing technology. Smart phones provide countless hours of entertainment and communication for millions of people in North America.
Geography – Much like the climate, the geography is extremely diverse in Northern Hemisphere. There are several major mountain ranges, like the Rocky Mountains and Appalachian. Major rivers form many state lines and are a major source of commerce. The Panama Canal provides a route from the Atlantic to Pacific Oceans and is extremely important. The geography is Canada provides mostly forests and frozen lakes. The western half of North America lies on a very unstable fault line, along the Ring of Fire. In central North America, flat plains exist, creating tornadoes. Most of the population lives on the coasts, near major ports and waterways.
Educational System – North America has 3 major countries: The United States, Mexico, and Canada. There are several others located in the Caribbean. The educational system of the US provides one of the most competitive on the planet, with 4 year college education becoming the standard for many citizens. Prior to this, the governments of all 3 countries provide public schools for legal citizens to attend ranging from kindergarten to high school.
Technology – The level of technology in North America has been accelerating for the past 100 years. Especially after the auto boom in the 1940’s and 50’s, technology and the economy itself has been good to North America. As mentioned above, smart phones provide a new source of communication for millions of people, but also instigate introverted behavior and are a major distraction. Technology, in recent years, has been taking a turn toward a more “green” movement. Solar power and the reduction of finite resources have been on the rise for the past 20 years.
